  • WALSH , SHEILA - 20th January 2009, WALSH, SHEILA - 20th January 2009, ROMANTIC novelist Sheila Walsh died on Tuesday, January 20. She leaves behind husband Des and daughters Tess and Fran. Southport's Writers' Circle president and founding member Sheila had a successful writing career winning the RNA Netta Muskett Award for New Writers in 1973 with her first novel, The Golden Songbird. The former vice-president of the British Romantic Novelists' Association was also a member of Southport Soroptimists and St Mary's Church.
